My Computer Runs Really Slowly
Computers Can run slowly for a variety of reasons. Here we tell you a few methods that might help.
The first thing to check for is Viruses, Spyware and Adware
To check for viruses make sure you have a virus checker that is up to date. A free one can be found at www.avast.com
Run the virus checker and clear out any
viruses your computer may have.
Secondly install an adware and spyware checker and make sure they are up to date.
Free ones can be found at:
www.spybot.info
www.lavasoftusa.com
Run these and remove any Spyware/Adware that you may have.
Run the disk defragmenter from All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Defragmenter
This optimizes your hard drive so that files are found more quickly
Remove unnecessary files. Use the Disk Cleanup Wizard
All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Cleanup
Remove any unneeded files to increase hard drive space to allow windows virtual memory more space to utilise.
Another option is to use a program such as Norton System Works which has optimization utilities within it.
